Cinemagic’s newly renovated premiere recliner facility in Hooksett, NH hosted the premiere screening of the independent feature film “Holly Star” with a cast Q&A on Wednesday, November 14th, 2018. The film will be available to the public on VOD on December 4th, 2018.

“Holly Star” is an entirely New England based project; with a cast and crew made up of almost all New England residents. Written, Produced and Directed by Michael A. Nickles of Saco, ME. (known for his work on Swing Away, Waynes World 2 and Hamburger Hill) “Holly Star” was filmed over 17 days in Biddeford and Saco, ME during one of the coldest winters on record. “Holly Star” is the first feature film to be filmed in the towns of Biddeford and Saco, ME.

“The people of Saco and Biddeford opened their arms and doors to us, giving us the support we needed. They fed us, cheered us on and kept us from freezing. It was an exhilarating shoot…” said Michael A. Nickles.

Starring Katlyn Carlson, Brian Muller and Teya Patt, the Christmas film “Holly Star” follows a down-on-her-luck leading lady played by Katlyn Carlson. Carlson’s character Sloan returns to her Maine roots for the holidays to start over after losing everything. Surviving a freak accident, she hits her head and remembers an event from her childhood; Santa hiding a bag full of money! Desperate for a way to jumpstart her life again, Sloan recruits her best friend Kay K, played by Teya Patt, to find the hidden money by unlocking the clues to its location that are buried in Sloan’s memories.
